i’m unable to solve these questions, i’ll be glad if someone could help me out

questions: Quadratic Equations

1) if x2 + px + qr = 0 and x2 + qx + rp = 0 have a common root & if roots of px2 + qx – r = 0 are real and equal, then show that roots are reciprocal of eachother.

2) if ax2 + 2bx + c = 0 and a1x2 + 2b1x + c1 = 0 have one and only one root in common, then show that b2 = m2 + ac and b12 = k^2 + a1c1 where m,k belong to intergers

Neetu, I looked in to yours quadratic equation problem. Can you please describe the problem again.

    in your question: ) if x2 + px + qr = 0 and x2 + qx + rp = 0 have a common root & if roots of px2 + qx – r = 0 are real and equal, then show that roots are reciprocal of eachother.

If a quadratic equation is of form ax2+bx+c and it’s roots are p and q.Then the quadratic equation will be cx2+bx+a if roots are reciprocal. It is a property of quadratic eqaution that a and c will be interchanged if roots are reciprocal.
