2012 was coordinated by IIM, Kozhikode,
in 61 centres across 36 cities from (11 October-6 November) in a
computer-based format

and date of birth & SMS to 57333 as

The CAT exam is very competitive and
students need to have good CAT results to
get admission into prestigious management institutes of India like
IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Kolkata, IIM
Kozhikode,IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore , IIM Bangalore,
FMS New Delhi, JBIMS Mumbai , IMT
Ghaziabad, MDI Gurgaon, NITIE Mumbai. Besides IIMs, there are more than 100
management institutes across India that accept CAT score for selection of candidates. Based on the
percentile scored in CAT 2012 result,
students were shortlisted for admission to different MBA Programs. The CAT
results 2012 will help B-Schools in judging the potential of the
candidates who wish to pursue their career in business
administration. Based on the performance in CAT 2013 results, students are shortlisted for
subsequent rounds consisting of Group Discussion and Personal
Interview for admissions into 2013 -2014 batch
There were three sections with 20 questions in each section of
Mathematical Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning,
English Language. The questions on Logical Reasoning were less
compared to previous year paper but the questions on Data
Interpretation were more this year. There were some questions on
Mathematics Aptitude in DI section and few Data Interpretation
questions in Mathematics section.
CAT Score
Three step scoring methodology is used to evaluate CAT score. First, raw score is calculated for each
section based on number of correct, incorrect questions. It is
important students avoid random guess if they are not sure of the
answer in CAT paper. Then raw score is
equated and finally equated raw score is scaled. In addition to
CAT 2013 result, the CAT website will also list the names of the
candidates that have been shortlisted for PGP for interviews by IIMs. An interview letter will
be sent to each shortlisted candidate. Each IIM has its own criteria for shortlisting
candidates.
